TO MUCH STRESS

The Holidays can be a very, very stressful time for Bride's!
For some, this is the first time they will meet his family. This may be the first time they have to think about buying gifts for someones family other than their own. We all want to get the perfect, thoughtful gift for our future in-laws. We want to make a great impression and say all the right things. This may be the first time that you and your new husband-to-be have really had to discuss finances. Or make decisions about choosing gifts together. You may find that you have totally different ideas. Or that your families have totally different traditions.
---All of these things can put us on edge.---
Then, on top of this, every one wants to know what you have planned for your wedding? (Often times they want to give there "two cent" about your wedding.) They want to know: What your gown looks like? What your colors are? And why you choose those colors? Who's doing the flowers? Where your getting married....and on and on!!
It can just become too much!!
If your wedding is in January, February, or March you may need to continue to plug away at the wedding stuff over the Holidays. But, I am guessing most wedding are not. If your feeling the stress of it all.....allow yourself some time off. Give yourself permission to STOP! And START back up with your "wedding stuff" in January or even early February. You really do have time!!! ( Most ordered things take 3-4 month.)
Allowing yourself a chance to make it through the Holidays with less stressed is always a good idea. Enjoy the time with new relatives; as well as the old ones. With out being all "stressed out" about all the "stuff " you still need to get done.
Eat that piece of Christmas candy or that lovely dinner and enjoy it without guilt! Or even a thought of fitting into your gown. You'll have months to hit the trend mill; if you want too.
Tell family and friends that you are taking a little break to enjoy the holidays with them. And you plan to hit it hard again after the first of the year. Or use your own patent statement that you feel comfortable with. Most people will respect the fact that you are prioritizing and making family first.
Now, please... go and have some fun!! Forget about all that "wedding stuff" for a while.
It will wait for you.....I promise.

See you again soon!!!

Happy Holidays,

Connie

PS if you just can't stop thinking about wedding stuff....make yourself a "to do" list for 1-1-08.

Hannah and John

Hannah came to the Bride's Corner almost a year before her wedding and fell in love with this Alfred Angelo favorite. As you can see by the photo's, "She is breath taking!!" She tried on many gowns. But, I think from the first moment she put this one on she knew...this was the one!!
(The back of this gown is what really sells this particular dress.)

On her wedding day, as she walked down the isle you could hear the guest saying, "isn't she beautiful!" And then as she and her Dad walked by the oooing and awing really began.

From the moment that John saw her at the other end of the isle the tears began to flow. Even though, he and Hannah had their photo's taken before the guest arrived by "Tammy Stewart Photography". He was just so happy that the heart felt tears came and didn't totally subside until he kissed his bride. Needless to say, John had everyone wiping their tears.
(By the way, I totally recommend doing photo's before hand! It is soo worth it!!)
Hannah chose her gown to be in the white with claret. (It comes in 55 other colors) This was the perfect color for her. She got married in early October. So, this deep rich red was gorgeous with the fall tones amongst the trees at the "White House Bed and Breakfast" in Cottage Grove.

Like many brides, Hannah had four bridesmaids. However, in Hannah's case there should have been five. Hannah struggled with how to honor her very best friend Sumer. Sumer was tragically killed in a auto accident the spring of their Senior year in High School. And taken from us much too soon.

Lots of us want to include and recognized the ones that aren't with us any more at our wedding. But, we aren't quite sure how to incorporate it into the ceremony. Or we can't decide what should be done at the reception to recognize them.

Hannah and her family began the wedding by including Sumer's Mom as part of the recognized ascorted parents. And then a single rose was carried in and sat on an empty chair next to Sumer's Mom, Andi. This was a simple but, meaningful part of the ceremony for every one involved.

Her four bridesmaids wore long, empire waist, claret red dresses by After Six. They carried roses, mini calla, dahlias and seeded ecalyptus all in white. Which was in contrast to the bride who carried all the same flowers in red. Bonnie of "Patton's Country Gardens" did the flowers and center piece decorations for the reception area. The great thing about Bonnie is the fact that she is a small business with exceptional customer service. When you start talking about flowers...she is there with ideas and suggestions...she design them...and is the delivery person the day of. Even though Hannah is a "shirt tale" relative of Bonnie the dedication and work is the same.

Hannah accessorized with rhinestone and garnet jewelry. A dear friend of the family made her veil. Which was trimmed on the edge with the same claret colored red ribbon.
In order to save some costs, Hannah's Mom, Beth spent a great deal of time decorating the wedding site. She used lots of "curly willow" to soften the area and added twinkle lights to create an elegant outdoor atmosphere. She pulled it off well!!

Hannah's Sister, Rebecca bought her wedding gown from Bride's Corner a few years back. Her Wedding was decorated in Cobalt Blue, Silver and White. The two sisters had totally different looks. Totally different Weddings...but, both very, very beautiful!

I would just like to say, "Thanks to the Martin Family for your support of Bride's Corner".

Alfred Angelo 2008

Alfred Angelo has just sent the first glance of 2008.

I am proud to be a dealer of their dresses. Alfred Angelo has been in the dress business for 75 years. Making high fashion for amazingly low prices. This dress company, in my opinion, has the most easy-to-alter construction on the market today.

Alfred Angelo is always looking to up date and try new things. I think?! That they may have been the first to offers just about every color that you can imagine in the accents on the bride's gown and then supply dresses for the entire bridal party in the same accent color.

One of my favorite things about Alfred Angelo is that every dress, not just certain ones, are available in woman sizes. That is pretty unusual. Most dress makers have "misses"in the larger size, but it is just not the same as a "women" cut.

We want your Photo's

This is a quieter time of the year at Bride’s Corner. Most, but not all, of the 2007 Bride’s have already gotten married. Which reminded me…I would love to be able to post your wedding photo’s here. I think that it is important for other Brides to be able to see what “real” Bride’s in this area have done with their own weddings. Yeah, the Bridal Magazines are great for ideas...but, wouldn't it be nice to be able to see what "real people do" that works. Without costing you a fortune. I mean really, who get to spend $7,000 just on their wedding gown? ( Not anybody that I know.)

So... show us what you did. Everything. The Dresses, Colors, Themes, Decorations and Flowers, Cake or some other kind of desert, the Vendors that you used, Traditions. All the special little things that made your wedding stand out from the rest. Or just send us your favorite photo of the day. A photo of just the two of you, or a big group, or even you smashing cake in your spouses face? Whatever you would like to share. We would love to post it.

B2

More of Jasmine Bridal. This is the B2 line. These fashionable trendy dresses are a great deal!! Not only do they have tons of colors and combinations that you can choose from; they are very reasonably price! Most of these dresses are shown in shorter length but can usually be purchased in long as well. So, here is a little peek. (You really need to see these in person to totally appreciate the color and quality.)

Belsoie

The feel of luxury is ever present in all the Belsoie dresses. Just wearing one will make any girl beautiful. One of the most awesome things about this dress line is that it is made by Jasmine. Jasmine is the only company, that I know of, that really give the Bride the freedom to do anything she wants! They allow you to choose from a ton of colors and if you want it in one of their other types of fabric...they simply say, "okay, what would you like." And as long as their team of experts feel the change will work; they will do it for a minimal fee. Another great thing about Jasmine is they will make you a "custom" pattern to fit your body. No other dress line cares that much! I often times will order my sample dresses in white or ivory. Belsoie dresses are made so well that they are great for informal or destination wedding gowns. Many of the Belsoie line of dresses have a small "brush train". And they carry lots of them in the Chiffon fabric that is so popular right now. The Chiffon is so light and airy that it just floats and dances when you walk. Because these dresses are not technically a Bridal Gown, you can save money and still get the same quality and high fashion designs for less. WOW!

Clark Wedding

7-7-07

Bride's Corner pressed lots and lots of weddings gowns for this famous day. I was at the Chateau Lorane Events Center where I felt privileged to be able to help cordinate Stacy Ponichtera and Keith Clark's wedding. What a Great bunch of people to work with!!! Stacy and Keith's wedding was beautifully decorated in moss green and shades of lavender. Stacy and her Mom, Judy, spent hours hand painting party favors for each of their guests to take with them. They were scattered on all the tables and gave a real personal touch to the table decor. Keith's parents were the special honored guests of this event. Just months before, the two of them were in a motorcycle accident and severely injured. No one knew for sure if they would be able to attend. Even though the two of them were in wheelchairs, they made more than an appearance, they had a great time. In fact, I saw Keith's Mom, playing "chase" with an adorable little boy at the reception. She even did a Mother/Son dance. How great is that!!! Stacy's Dad gave a wonderful toast and told of their Heritage. Stacy and Keith looked amazing. Their laid back and easy going disposition made for a wonderful and blissful day. Speaking of bliss...I also got the chance to observe two of my favorite photographers from Bliss Studio. Whitney and Dan, captured it all in their photographs. You should check them out!!! http://www.blissstudio.net/ I also was able to see the work of someone that I hadn't work with before...Dandelion Flowers & Gifts. http://www.dandelionsflowers.com/ The flowers were simply beautiful. The Chateau Lorane Events Center put out quite a spread of food that was enjoyed by all.
Thanks Stacy and Keith for including me in on your special day!

The biggest wedding day of the century!!!

Wow! What an exciting week!!! The Biggest Wedding Day of the Century!

Or at least in the time that I have been in the Wedding Industry. I have owned the Bride's Corner since late November 2002. Before 2002, I was a Wedding Cordinator for many years and I worked for a couple of different photographers. Over the years, I have had lots of fun wedding experiences to tell about....
By starting a "Blog" I was hoping that I would be able to share some of my experience with you. I have people who ask me questions all the time. Some are easy to answer... and some have unique situations that I thought you might enjoy reading about. (It might answer some questions that you have too?) I hope to be able to share with you some of my customers photos of their own weddings. To show you what others have done with color and decor or even a theme to make their wedding day special. I will post "new gown arrivals", upcoming "Sales", "Events" and Vendors that I enjoy working with. As well as, a little blurb of what's happening. So, let's get started with the biggest wedding day of the year....
